For expressions not on your degree audit, additional documentation is required when you submit your Program of Study (POS), per the instructions below. If you are putting an expression in your POS that you have not yet completed, check the box on the POS form to indicate you are asking for provisional approval of your POS and acknowledge that you will need to submit the required documentation before you will be approved to graduate in Honors.
An undergraduate research project (either breadth or depth)
- A memo from you that details your contribution to the research.
- An endorsing statement from your project supervisor (can be on the above memo or separate) confirming that they have read and concur with your assessment of research contribution.
Research activity resulting in peer-reviewed evidence of scholarship, with you as first student author
- A link to or copy of the artifact (paper, patent, proceedings, etc.)
- A memo from you that details your contribution to the research
- An endorsing statement from your project supervisor (can be on the above memo or separate) confirming that they have read and concur with your assessment of research contribution.
Leadership in a campus or community organization
- A memo from you that describes your contribution and more importantly, your personal development as a result of your role.
- An endorsing statement (can be on the above memo or separate) from a person in an authority role in the organization (not a fellow student) confirming that they have read and concur with your assessment of your contribution.
Leadership in the University Honors Program (as a UA, FHP leader, or Honors Ambassador)
- No action is needed on your part, because the UHP will provide verification directly to the College of Engineering.
Serving as a learning community Peer Mentor
- A memo from the faculty or staff learning community coordinator confirming your role.
Working as an SI tutor or help room staff
- A memo from your supervisor confirming your role.
A formal TA position involving lecturing, leading a discussion, or managing a laboratory (grading-only positions will not be considered)
- A memo from you that describes your contribution and your personal development as a result of your teaching assistantship.
- A memo from your supervisor in the organization confirming that they have read and concur with your assessment of contribution.
