Engineering Global Friends is now accepting applications from domestic and international engineers. Participants will be able to learn about different cultures and languages through activities and events.
Engineering Global Friends
Details
- One domestic student and one international student will be paired
- Pairs will be expected to meet once a week for at least an hour
- Engineering Global Friends Student Coordinator will host events based on participants’ choice
Expectation and Requirements
- Undergraduate engineering students only
- Attend the “Meet and Greet” party
- Be open to suggested EGF events and activities
- Keep an open mind about other members’ culture, language and time
- Follow the program’s rules
- Commitment of at least 1 hour per week with exception of 2 absences
Semester Events
Events are free of charge to EGF participants and may include:
- Meet and Greet party
- On campus: Bowling and Billiards, Lunch at the Tea Room, Board games with alumni, Coffee session, Movie theater, Shows at Stephens Auditorium, etc.
- Off campus: Museums, Laser Tag, Industry visits, and other Iowa attractions
- End of Semester event
