Why Engineering: Engineering is a world where you make things happen. It is a field where being hands-on and goal-oriented is rewarded. I want to be able to take an idea and make it a reality. At the end of the day, I want to improve the world in any way I possibly can.
Favorite ISU Memory: My favorite ISU Memory is meeting my best friend at Destination Iowa State. After completely uprooting my life and moving to Iowa, it felt nice to connect and make a friend so quickly. By the end of the week, we just wanted to continue having fun and hanging out together instead of starting school!
Something Unique About Me: I was a beekeeper for thirteen years. From kindergarten through high school, I kept two hives with my dad in our backyard.
Words of Wisdom: Life has a way of figuring itself out, and if all of a sudden it takes a turn you were not expecting, that’s okay! You were meant for something else. Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and advocate for yourself. And most importantly, something Dr. Ancar told me freshman year is to start thinking of yourself as an engineer, not going to be an engineer. It makes all the difference in self-confidence.
