Why Engineering: I chose engineering because I wanted to make sure I did something in my career that fulfilled me and challenged me. I wanted to ensure that whatever I pursued, I could use it to benefit the world in a meaningful way, long term. I had a passion for innovation, invention, and creativity, which manifested as an interest in research and problem solving; this also made me more interested in engineering when I was in high school.
Favorite ISU Memory: My favorite ISU memory is definitely storming the field after the West Virginia game my freshman year.
Something Unique About Me: I love the arts; I love to write, read, draw, take and edit photos and play music. One of my goals in life is to release a book, so I am working on that and have been working on it since high school. I also want to become a wine snob.
Words of Wisdom: Work on learning how to communicate with new people; one of the most beneficial aspects of my college career was my willingness to network with anyone. It opened up many doors for me; I would never have been able to reach the level of success that I have without pushing myself to find the people who could help me. I would recommend finding an upperclassman that you admire and seek out their mentorship, and you can learn so much about their successes and failures and use that to your benefit.
