Why Engineering: I chose civil engineering because I wanted to give back to communities like my parents’ hometown in Mexico. I wanted to be able to contribute to the development of these communities in a sustainable manner to improve the lifestyle of those living there.
Favorite ISU Memory: All the “surprise” birthday parties we had in our friend group. We had so many of them when we were all turning 21 that it was harder and harder to keep it a surprise anymore.
Something Unique About Me: I’ve skydived twice! First time in Puerto Rico and the second time in Colorado.
Words of Wisdom: Find your community! College is not easy but it’s better when you have friends, mentors, and people you can count on by your side. Take time to enjoy the little things! These four years will have stressful times but they will pass, the memories you make, however, last forever.
