Loyd first came to Ames to work on his master’s in meteorology. He’s now spent over 25 years in Ames, where he is an academic advisor for the Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering at Iowa State University. He says one of his favorite experiences working on Iowa State’s campus is “meeting people from all over all the world right in the middle of Iowa.”
