Information
I have been teaching Mechanics of Materials (E M 324, now EM 3240) at Iowa State since Fall 2012, and now I also teach AERE 3210 (Flight Structures Analysis). I have also taught Statics (E M 274, now CE 2740), Dynamics (E M 345, now ME 3450), and Introduction to Aircraft Performance and Design (Aer E 261, now AERE 2610).
I grew up in a small town in north central Iowa. I earned my BS in Engineering Science and a minor in Mathematics from Iowa State University. I earned my MS in Engineering Mechanics from Michigan State University with an emphasis in NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness). I worked at Delphi as a new development engineer for steering gears and halfshafts/CV joints, at Eaton as an NVH test engineer for superchargers, and briefly at John Deere as a quality engineer for cottonpickers. You’ll find me celebrating my students’ success in their academic goals as well as in their campus organizations, athletics, musical performances, and philanthropic events.
