Curriculum

• DMACC developed a pre-engineering program and partnered with the College of Engineering at ISU to develop a recommended course sequence “Basic Program” for pre-engineering students. “Engineer Your Future” (brochure) 
  
• DMACC’s EGR 100, Engineering Orientation, provides students with a broad overview of the engineering disciplines and general information about the transfer process to a four-year institution.
• The E2020 Scholars Program was an NSF S-STEM funded project coordinated alongside the SEEC project. Ongoing development and integration of the E2020 curriculum continues at Iowa State. The project also identified ways to introduce the pillar topics of leadership, systems thinking, innovation, and global awareness to all engineering students. Curricular/co-curricular options include the first-year experience and learning communities, using modules from the seminar courses; or via senior design, similar to the E2020 project-based learning experience. Starting with learning community program coordinators, instructors and peer mentors in the college, the project shared instructional materials for each of the pillars.
